Description

This stylish piano album takes players on a musical tour of autumn, presenting well-loved songs such as 'September in the Rain', 'Witchcraft', and '(Somewhere) Over the Rainbow' and original compositions on other seasonal themes. The nine pieces reflect a wide variety of jazz styles, including swing, waltz, calypso, and shuffle, and draw on artists such as Billie Holiday, Keith Jarrett, Stan Getz, and Frank Sinatra. With fully notated rhythms, grooves, and improvisations, Jazz in Autumn is the perfect collection for pianists looking for that authentic sound.

Nikki Iles won the British Jazz Award for piano in 2017, and The Ivors Academy Gold Badge 2019

Reviews
The indefatigable performer-composer-music educator Nikki Iles completes her seasonal survey with a typically charming, understated and touching autumnal anthology. Many styles are on offer here, from swing standards through to contemporary music . . . Classically trained players could find Iles's approach particularly useful as they need only play exactly what is written in order to produce an authoritative and complete performance in itself . . . The book is something of a bargain and includes a wonderful CD with Iles playing all nine pieces exquisitely, showing subtle accentuation, carefully gauged rubato and exquisite tonal variety and voicing within an essentially hushed sonic perspective. Strongly recommended. * Murray Mclachlan, International Piano, November 2014 *
An authentic jazz sound can be easily created using Nikki's notated rhythms, grooves, harmonies and solos, and the expertise of the arranger guides players through the diversity of jazz characters. These stylish arrangements and compositions are the perfect introduction to jazz. * Piano Professional, September 2018 *

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
