Reviews
'This book shifts the focus away from the all too familiar 'internal conflict' understanding of Northern Ireland, highlighting the developing impact of the European Union on identities. The author is careful to emphasise that these are 'intimations' but notes their potential significance to alter Northern Irish politics. This is a refreshing and challenging work offering an alternative way of looking at an old problem.' - Dr James Mitchell, University of Strathclyde 'McCall's analysis is incisive and illuminating. The book will interest all those who attend to contemporary dynamics of change in Europe...' - Peter W.Preston, Reader in Political Sociology, Department of Political Science and International Studies, University of Birmingham 'This is one of the most intellectually stimulating of analyses on offer of late, as well as being balm for the anguished liberal.' - W. Harvey Cox,Parliamentary Affairs
