Description

A lively and engaging Starters title for beginner readers from author-illustrator Ex Boxall, with a friendly text and stylish two-colour illustrations.

Hugo's Hullabaloo is part of Walker Starters, the wonderfully fun and friendly series for beginner readers. There was once a king and queen. They lived with their son Hugo in a big, big castle. Hugo has every toy he could wish for, but he's still very lonely. What he needs is a wild hullabaloo! This is a charming and uplifting story told through a range of writing styles, including hand-lettered invitations and speech bubbles. The illustrations, which appear on every page, are lively and stylish, and play an active part in helping children understand the text.

Reviews
"For the newly confident and, dare one say it, the newly reluctant reader, Walker breaks new ground with the Starters series. Printed throughout in two or three tones, including the text, these books are good to handle and look at, inside and out." The Times Educational Supplement "Six quality books by top contemporary authors make up this lively and stylish new series... Illustrated in just two colours and using several media... the stories tackle subjects with strong child appeal." Junior "Leaving the best to last is... a series called Starters... perfect co-ordination of text and illustration, plenty of puns and a standing ovation for the surprise ending. Not to be missed!" School Librarian "Perfect co-ordination of text and illustration, plenty of puns and a standing ovation for the surprise ending. Not to be missed!" School Librarian"

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
