He is A People's History of the United States in 1980. He received the Lannan Foundation Literary Award for Nonfiction and the Eugene V. Debs award for his writing and political activism. Donaldo Macedo is Distinguished Professor of Education at U Mass Boston and co-author of Dancing with Bigotry: Beyond the Politics of Tolerance (Palgrave MacMillan, 2000) and The Hegemony of English (Paradigm, 2004).
