Reviews
Ivins and Pemberton provide the reader with clear and concrete guidance on how to participate in the process of professional publishing in librarianship, from inspiration to final copy. Their informal, rhetorical tone reads like a conversation with a seasoned mentor, with the right mix of information and encouragement. The text incorporates practical exercises, and the sections on how to mine one's activities for topics and approaches appropriate for a publication are particularly helpful. -- Eleanor Mitchell, Director of Library Services at Dickinson College, Editor Emeritus of Reference Services Review
This 'how to' is a quick-and-easy read, and will benefit librarians at all stages of their careers whether they are new to the publishing process or have several publications under their belts. I will refer to this book often as I continue to publish throughout my career. -- Leah Plocharczyk, Assistant Director, MacArthur Campus Library, Florida Atlantic University
The book is thorough, detailed, and yet accessible for all who work in libraries. The authors give us a blueprint for success in scholarship that is broken down into steps that are easy to understand and accomplish. -- Nathan Flowers, Systems Librarian at Francis Marion University
