Description

Aided by top racing and high-performance TR specialists, his own experiences and those of other amateur restorers, the author explains in some detail how to increase the performance and handling of the four-cylinder TR sports cars for fast road, track days or more serious motorsport. Roger Williams has written several books in this best-selling SpeedPro series.

About the Author
Roger Williams was born in 1940. Aircraft became his first love, and he joined the de Havilland Aircraft Company where he quickly added motor cars to his list of prime interests. During the ensuing six years Roger not only completed his apprenticeship and studies, but also built two Ford-based 'specials.' Family and career interests took pride of place for the next few years but, in 1986, he started his own consultancy business which allowed him to restore numerous MGBs, a Triumph TR6 and a Triumph Stag, as well as to write several books about both MGB and Triumph sportscar performance and restoration, all published by Veloce.

Reviews
This volume is divided into 17 chapters dealing with all aspects of the cars. It is very well illustrated with mostly colour photographs and the author goes into great detail ... - Club Torque. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested, not only in modifying their TR, but in understanding just what possibilities exist and where there may be opportunities to make small improvements when they come to replace worn out components. - TR Register, New Zealand. This book has been out of print since 2015, but has now been added to Veloce's growing range of classic reprints. Although most owners will equate that initially with just speed and handling, the scope of this book is much wider and includes improvements you can make for safety, reliability and ease of maintenance too. The emphasis is very much on a balanced programme of changes, with modifications divided into Fast Road, Ultra Fast Road and Competition. - Triumph World. The next and long awaited issue in the Veloce Classic Reprint series is the return of this invaluable able for improving, tuning and modifying the chassis based 4 cylinder cars. An update and revision of the original by the late Roger Williams, this book is a combination of the old SAH and J Maclay tuning manuals all rolled into one plus so much more. The projects included within cover all aspects of restoration and improvement from simple upgrades such as positive to negative earth and dynamo to alternator conversion right the way through to full race preparation including engine and suspension upgrades. The chapter on Weber carburettors is hugely valuable but I particularly enjoyed the quite detailed exploration of electronic fuel injection installation for 4 cylinder were liner engines! The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
