Description

Housing is an important determinant of health. This book provides a concise overview of the impact of housing policy and the effect of housing on health. It covers the issues of homelessness and health, collaboration between organisations in delivering housing needs, and focusses on the role of primary care teams as part of the Primary Care Trusts. It will be of interest to all members of primary care organisations, especially those concerned with health and social policy, including clinicians, nurses, psychologists, managers, statutory and voluntary housing organisations, policy makers, shapers and influencers.
Reviews
'This timely guide to the role of primary care in the important area of housing and health will give us all reasons to stop and think. In the area of social housing, GPs can have a genuine impact' David Haslam, in the Foreword 'This timely guide to the role of primary care in the important area of housing and health will give us all reasons to stop and think. I had never actually thought of re-housing as being a positively therapeutic act until I read this. In the area of social housing, GPs can have a genuine impact. In addition, primary care trusts now have a public health function, and there can be few more important aspects of public health than inadequate housing. This publication presents the very considerable evidence base for the very clear link between housing and health, and also reviews the dreadful effects of homelessness. This focus on the housing needs of our patients, and the health disaster that homelessness and inadequate housing represent, can begin to help us make a difference'; David Haslam, in the Foreword

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
