Reviews
It provides a detailed review of a wide variety of areas related to this compound, from historical use, pharmacological actions of this substance, the scientific evidence supporting its medicinal properties, as well as the political and legal issues around its medical and recreational uses. Overall this is an excellent reference for a wide variety of individuals that would be a welcome addition to most libraries. * Doody's Notes *
The "Handbook of Cannabis" is clearly a labour of love. Prof. Pertwee is an international leading light in the study of cannabis and cannabinoids. He has recruited an extended list of contributors and sub-editors, who have managed a Herculean task of summarising the wealth and breadth of knowledge on cannabis and cannabinoids. This handbook will be a fantastic reference book for both researchers and those outside the area to obtain an authoritative summary on that topic. This book is a masterpiece! The contributions Roger Pertwee has made (namely his research on experimental multiple sclerosis and cannabinoids) are incredibly noteworthy. The "Handbook of Cannabis" contains contributions from many important international researchers, and I am delighted to commend the handbook, which will no doubt be a landmark in the field.
