About the Author
Kaltham Al Ghanem is Professor of sociology and Director of Center for Humanities and Social Sciences at Qatar University. She has worked in several areas of Sociological and Anthropological research in the Arabian Gulf and is the winner of many prizes for her research. She is also currently head of the committee for of the national prize for children's literature and member of the editorial management of Folk Proverbs magazine. This is her first book for children. May Al Mannai is an illustrator and graphic designer who works at Al Jazeera Children's Channel in Qatar. This is her first book.

In this, her first children's book, Kaltham al-Ghanim's interest in folklore is evident in the cadences of her engaging narrative which is full of the rich detail of life in the Arabian Gulf. This is also illustrator May al-Mannai's first book and her stylised, richly patterned illustrations, which incorporate collage, make confident use of the page. A beautiful production. The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.

Found a hard to get book…
