Since Samuel Beckett's ground-breaking Waiting for Godot first hit the stage in 1953, countless men across the world have donned the boots of Didi and Gogo and trodden the boards - but those boots can only be filled by men, and the bar against casting anyone else is upheld to this day, almost seventy years on. About the Author
Silent Faces Theatre (Cordelia Stevenson, Josie Underwood and Jack Wakely) have been making seriously silly theatre since 2015. Combining their unique style of physical theatre, clowning, mime and new writing, they create high-concept devised theatre that tackles big issues. They are a female- and non-binary-led integrated company of disabled and non-disabled artists, and their work has been performed at the Pleasance, Edinburgh Fringe, Camden People's Theatre, Latitude Festival, Wilderness Festival, Brighton Fringe and as part of Incoming Festival at HOME Manchester and New Diorama.
