Reviews
People interested in this arena should read it. * On the Horizon *
With all the recent writing on globalization, it is a welcome addition to find a book that deals comprehensively with the relationship between globalization and education at all levels and comparatively in different countries, both developed and developing. It is unusual for such a book to be a cohesive whole, and yet it manages to be that. The quality of various contributions is quite consistent. There is something for everyone who takes a critical perspective on globalization here. Highly recommended. * Canadian Journal of Higher Education *
This is an excellent and timely book. It deals with enough issues that one could build an entire graduate course around. In addition, it raises enough questions that go far beyond the purview of a textbook. The chapters are so well referenced that the reader can take any of these issues and pursue them in greater depths. * Comparative Education Review *
Globalization and Education offers a set of insightful and pioneering articles by well-known and thoughtful scholars on some of the most important social issues of our times. It analyzes economic and cultural dimensions of globalization within the political context of the world system. This is a must-read for students and scholars in the field. -- Steven J. Klees, University of Maryland
