About the Author
Richard Hoefer is Professor in the School of Social Work at the University of Texas at Arlington. He holds a Ph.D. in social work and political science and a M.A. in political science from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. He also has a B.S.W. and M.S.W. from the University of Kansas. He was named as a NASW Pioneer (R) in 2021, an honor ranking him alongside the luminaries of social work history. He also received the 2023 Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Association of Social Workers, North Central Texas Branch-Fort Worth Area.
