Description

This book presents new computational tools for the H control of distributed parameter systems in which transfer functions are considered as input-output descriptions for the plants to be controlled. The emphasis is on the computation of the controller parameters and reliable implementation. The authors present recent studies showing that the simplified skew Toeplitz method is applicable to a wide class of systems, supply detailed examples from systems with time delays and various engineering applications, and discuss reliable implementation of the controller, complemented by a software based on MATLAB (R).

Frequency Domain Techniques for H Control of Distributed Parameter Systems is intended for advanced undergraduate and early graduate students interested in robust control of distributed parameter systems-time delay systems-as well as researchers and engineers working in related fields. It can be used in the following courses: Introduction to Robust Control with Applications to Distributed Parameter Systems and Introduction to Robust Control with Applications to Time Delay Systems.

About the Author
Hitay OEzbay is a professor of electrical and electronics engineering at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey. He is a Vice-Chair of the IFAC Technical Committee on Linear Control Systems, a member of the Board of Governors of the IEEE Control Systems Society, and a General Assembly member of the European Control Association. An IEEE Fellow, he is also an associate editor for Automatica and is the author or co-author of four books and more than 200 refereed articles in journals and conference proceedings.

Suat Gumu?soy is principal control system engineer in the controls and identification team at MathWorks, contributing to the control system, robust control, and system identification toolboxes. He is the author of two control apps and 50 publications and serves as an associate editor on the IEEE CSS Conference Editorial Board. His research focuses on reinforcement learning, analysis and control of time delay systems, optimization-based tuning methods for robust control, frequency domain system identification, and model reduction.

Kenji Kashima is an associate professor with the graduate school of informatics at Kyoto University. He is an associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, the IEEE CSS Conference Editorial Board, and the Asian Journal of Control. He received a Humboldt Research Fellowship for Experienced Researchers (2010) and a Pioneer Award of SICE Control Division (2012). His research interests include system and control theory for distributed and stochastic phenomena in large scale dynamical systems, as well as its applications.

Yutaka Yamamoto is Professor Emeritus at Kyoto University. He has received numerous awards and prizes, including the IEEE Control Systems Society's Distinguished Member Award (2009) and Transition to Practice Award (2012) and the ISCIE Best Industrial Paper Award (2009). He is a past president of the IEEE Control Systems Society and is currently an associate editor of Mathematics of Control, Signals, and Systems. He is a Fellow of the IEEE, IFAC, and SICE. His research and teaching interests are in realization and robust control of distributed parameter systems, learning control systems, and sampled-data systems, and its application to digital signal processing, with emphasis on sound and image processing.

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
