The layout of the book runs parallel with that of the successful Foundations of Organic Chemistry by the same authors. The first three chapters cover basic physical organic chemistry, setting the scene for the mechanistic organic chemistry covered later. The problems are accompanied by useful hints, and the answers with tutorial comments which reinforce the chemical principles involved.
