Schumann composed his Album for the Young, in 1848 in less than a month. He wrote at the time: 'I don't remember ever having been in such good musical form ... The pieces simply poured out one after another.' When the work was first published, it was divided into two parts: 'fur Kleinere' (for younger people) and 'fur Erwachsenere' (for older people). This edition contains the first part (easy to moderately difficult) only. The complete Album for the Young, containing both Parts I and II, is also published by ABRSM.
