Description

The Ferrari GT Berlinettas are undeniably beautiful and, arguably, the greatest Ferrari racing cars ever built. The 250 GT Competizione Berlinetta - now popularly known as the Tour de France Berlinetta, in honour of the model's domination of the great French event with four outright victories - was the true forerunner of the series of cars which established Ferrari as a major force in sports car racing. Here is the story of the development, building and racing of the Tour de France Ferraris. Importantly, the book also contains individual histories of the Ferrari TdF Berlinettas. Out of print for many years, this classic edition has been reissued in paperback format, due to popular demand.

About the Author
John Starkey has been a Ferrari and racing car addict for many years, has owned many different sports cars, and has competed in hill-climbs, rallies and vintage sports car races since the 1960s. He owned a Tour de France 250 GT Berlinetta for 12 years, and was so enamoured of the model that he felt compelled to write the original version of this book in 1986 (since updated). John lives in Florida, USA, where he also runs a race-car business, working as a consultant, researcher and author. He is a has written a number of other automotive books including Porsche 911 R RS RSR, Lola - The Illustrated History 1957-1977, and Lola - All The Sports Racing & Single-seater Racing Cars 1978-1997, all published by Veloce.

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
