For the last eight years, James and Kate have been working together to design, implement and evaluate a whole-school, evidence-informed approach to teaching and learning known as Learning Skills. An eight-year study with the University of Cambridge revealed that Learning Skills led to significant gains in subject learning, with rapid gains among students from disadvantaged backgrounds. About the Author
James holds an MA in Person Centred Education from Sussex University, and is currently in the final year of a PhD in education research at Cambridge. He is an Associate of the UCL Institute of Education, and an Associate of Oracy Cambridge. He taught science for ten years.Kate is a teacher with over 15 years' experience in leadership, management and training. She is a passionate advocate for inclusive, high-quality education for all. Kate specialises in innovative curriculum design and building sustainable networks which enhance learning, develop employability and enable effective collaborations across local, national and international communities.
