Kids are naturally curious about the many cultures and subcultures of the world. "Exploring People and Cultures: Authentic Ethnographic Research in the Classroom" taps into that interest by providing teachers of students in grades 5-8 with tools and activities for helping kids conduct a study of ethnic groups and cultures in the classroom. Through the more than 30 ready-to-use, differentiated lessons, teachers will help students learn how to recognize and understand the elements of culture; think critically, creatively, and confidently; practice and apply real-world research techniques in field experiences; identify behavioral themes and patterns present in modern-day cultures; and create, plan, and share their final products in a student-led ethnography fair.
