Description

~

'The Sandinistas are known to have made literature a central signifier of their political project. It therefore makes sense that the question of literature and its relationship with power… is at the center of this book. Delgado's starting point is Ángel Rama's hypothesis that the literary world in Latin America – ‘la ciudad letrada’ (the lettered city) – has been, since its colonial origins, linked to the state and to the formation of state elites… Delgado furthers Rama's idea to build something like a Central American variant of the ‘ciudad letrada’ that runs from Darío to the Sandinista proposals for the democratization of culture. The portrait he offers is centered on the most intimate of all forms of modern literature, the literary autobiography.'

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
