Reviews
Such an amazing reminder of what it's like to walk in the footsteps of a student teacher! Every cooperating teacher needs this in his/her hands before and during the process of working with a teacher candidate. Henry and Weber cover all the bases as they remind us that our student teacher is just that...our STUDENT. This professional duo arms us with practical, perfectly positioned solutions to the challenges we face in helping these students navigate the often overwhelming, yet always rewarding path to TEACHER. -- Tara Woods, fourth grade language arts teacher
Evaluating a Student Teacher prepares you to be the best you possibly can be for your student teacher. This book will be on the desk of every cooperating teacher who seeks excellence from their student teachers. -- Paul Ritter, High School Ecology Teacher; National Environmental Science Teacher of the Year; White House Presidential Award for Innovation in Environmental Education
In Evaluating a Student Teacher I was very pleased to find a checklist referencing the legal aspects of the student evaluation process ('"The key to good evaluation...regular, open communication!" Henry and Weber') and the extremely helpful checklist for writing a letter of recommendation. The advice from Henry and Weber will help create a rewarding and educational experience for my student teacher as well as me. -- Anne Waldorf, First Grade Veteran Cooperating Teacher
This book offers some very real-world challenges and situations that both the student teacher and cooperating teacher may face throughout the student teaching experience. Most importantly, it provides those involved with quick, simple ideas to help guide them through to what we hope will be a positive solution. -- Scott Peters, Elementary Principal
