Description

Gain a contemporary and complete understanding of the concepts, theories and practical considerations integral to modern diversity management with this textbook. Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace provides a clear and accessible introduction to the subject, finely balancing theoretical and practical considerations to enable students to engage with EDI issues with confidence and understanding. It discusses concepts and theories relevant to EDI from a range of disciplines, outlining the major legislation impacting on EDI organizational practice worldwide. This textbook also features an in-depth exploration of the key issues, challenges and considerations regarding respective employee groups and analyses concepts such as intersectionality, diversity resistance, allyship and issues of 'rhetoric versus reality'. It features insights from EDI experts across the globe as well as legal cases and examples from the likes of General Motors and Tata Consultancy Services. It is supported by a range of learning features including learning outcomes, 'often misunderstood' features, practical activities and debate questions. With a suite of online resources including lecture slides, teaching resources and further long-form case studies, this is an essential resource for postgraduate and upper undergraduate HRM and business students studying modules relating to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Reviews
"Ciaran McFadden's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace is the best book I have encountered for studying EDI principles in business, HR, employment and economics. The blend of contemporary theories, real-life examples and policy implications brings a dynamic energy to the subject, encouraging learners, educators, policymakers and the wider public to recognize the importance of EDI in building human and societal capital. The book covers a vast array of critical topics and, most importantly, presents them in a clear and highly accessible manner. It surpasses all others currently available by enhancing learners' employability skills and preparing them for success in business environments." * Nick Drydakis, Professor of Economics, Anglia Ruskin University and University of Cambridge *
"Ciaran McFadden's examination of equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in the workplace presents a courageous, brilliant and textured resource on a subject that is ever evolving. It locates EDI within historical, political and social contexts while articulating its ongoing relevance and complexity. I recommend this book for students, academics and practitioners interested in acquiring depth, breadth and currency of knowledge of EDI." * Julie Gedro, MBA, EdD, Dean and Professor of Business, Empire State University *
"McFadden's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace is a much-needed textbook that will enable students to understand the common systems of oppression that impact workers with marginalized identities globally. This book elevates diversity science and best practices to develop more informed and effective managers, leaders and inclusive workplaces." * Kecia Thomas, Dean and Professor of Psychology, College of Arts and Sciences, University of Alabama at Birmingham *
"This book is a game-changer for strengthening equality, diversity and inclusion in organizations. Its accessible language, practical insights and activities and comprehensive approach make it an invaluable and unparalleled resource. I highly recommend this book to anyone seeking impactful organizational change." * Robert C. Mizzi, Professor and Canada Research Chair, University of Manitoba, Canada *
"This is an excellent resource for anyone teaching EDI or for anyone hoping to better implement EDI policies and interventions in their workplace. It's comprehensive. It outlines core constructs and dives deep on a variety of marginalized identities. Importantly, this book provides concrete recommendations on how to authentically implement EDI practices in the workplace." * Sarah Stutterheim, Associate Professor, Department of Health Promotion, Maastricht University *

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
