Description

Effective Parenting for the Hard-to-Manage Child is a skills-based book for parents who need practical advice from experts, without all the jargon and generalizations. The book provides specific strategies and techniques for children who are intense, highly reactive, and unable to self-calm.

It integrates various treatment approaches in a clear and accessible manner, and offers the "best kept secrets" from the fields of mental health and occupational therapy. The book emphasizes key concepts and everyday activities that will help children take charge of their problems, and it is an invaluable resource for any parent faced with the challenge of a hard-to-manage child.

Reviews

"This is a very valuable book for parents who feel out of control with a difficult child. There are valuable insights into the child's built-in reasons for being difficult. And the suggestions for helping the child learn to manage his or her own self-regulation will certainly lead to your goal as a parent-self-control and self-esteem!" - T. Berry Brazelton, Professor Emeritus of Pediatrics, Harvard Medical School, USA

"Effective Parenting for the Hard-to-Manage Child is a wonderful resource for parents struggling to understand their children's emotional and behavioral issues. Every chapter first explains common problems, and second provides strategies to assist in management of children's difficulties." - Lucy Jane Miller, PhD, founder and executive director, SPD Foundation, USA

"[Effective Parenting for the Hard-to-Manage Child] offer[s] advice for parents culled from decades of clinical practice....useful for parents who are stymied by difficult behavior that occurs habitually or sporadically." - Sandra G. Boodman in Washington Post

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
