Reviews
*4 stars* "The book states that it hopes to "capture the essence of dysphagia from a clinical perspective, reviewing its various etiologies and focusing on current management strategies." [which] are worthy objectives, and the book succeeds at least in part in meeting these.... [D]oes an excellent job of dealing with anatomic regions (oropharynx, body of esophagus, EG junction) and discussing pathogenesis of problems and workup. It does a wonderful job of describing the swallowing mechanism by anatomic region and then delves into various swallowing problems.... [It] will be a useful supplement for those wishing to enhance their knowledge of swallowing and its disorders, particularly those seeking to form a coherent mental picture of transit from mouth to stomach and the ways in which it can be disordered." -- (c)Doody's Review Service, 2024, Carol Scott-Conner, MD, PhD, MBA, MFA (University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics)
