About the Author
Michael Baldea is Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Texas, Austin. Prior to joining the University of Texas, he held industrial research positions with Praxair Technology Center in Tonawanda, NY and GE Global Research in Niskayuna, NY. He has received several research and service awards, including the Model-Based Innovation Prize from Process Systems Enterprise and the Best Referee Award from the Journal of Process Control and has co-authored over 60 papers and presentations. Prodromos Daoutidis is Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at the University of Minnesota. He has also held a position as Professor at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2004-2006. He is the recipient of several research and teaching awards and recognitions, including the NSF CAREER Award, the Model-Based Innovation Prize from Process Systems Enterprise, the Ted Peterson Award of CAST, the George Taylor Career Development Award, the McKnight Land-Grant Professorship, the Ray D. Johnson/Mayon Plastics Professorship and the Shell Chair at the University of Minnesota. He has also been a Humphrey Institute Policy Fellow. He has co-authored two books and 175 refereed papers.
