Description

Geometry is both elegantly simple and infinitely profound. Many professionals find they need to be able to draw geometric shapes accurately, and this unique book shows them how.

It provides step-by-step instructions for constructing two-dimensional geometric shapes, which can be readily followed by a beginner, or used as an invaluable source book by students and professionals.

About the Author
Jon Allen has been a practising architect for twenty-five years. He has worked closely with Keith Critchlow, a world authority on geometry, and has developed a particular interest in the application of geometry in architectural design. He lives in London. He is also the author of Making Geometry (Floris Books, 2012). Professor Keith Critchlow was a well-known lecturer and author. He was a founder member of RILKO (Research Into Lost Knowledge Organisation), a founder member and Director of Studies of Kairos and a founder member and President of the Temenos Academy. He was Professor Emeritus and founder of the Visual Islamic and Traditional Arts Programme at the Royal College of Art, now the Prince's School of Traditional Arts. His many previous books include Order in Space, Islamic Patterns: An Analytical and Cosmological Approach, Markings: Aerial Views of Sacred Landscapes, Soul as Sphere and Androgyne, and Time Stands Still: New Light on Megalithic Science (Floris Books, 2007).

Reviews

'The author has produced a reference work for those wishing to construct regular polyhedra and an interesting collection of photographs of plants.'
-- Science Group of the Anthroposophical Society in Great Britain Newsletter

'Simply an excellent guide book... it subtly leads into a meditative state followed by the catharsis of achieving perfection. Beyond that it encourages the intelligent eye to go exploring for these shapes in nature...a splendid inspiration.'
-- Francis Cameron, Pentacle Magazine

'A simple and beautiful book...The beauty of the proportions is palpable, especially when illustrated alongside the flowers whose designs reflect the same principles. The instructions and illustrations are equally clear.'
-- Scientific and Medical Network Review, Winter 2007

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
