Goodreads giveaway. We will seek features and reviews from newspapers, magazines, and journals. Promotion targeting Crime Reads, Lithub, International Thriller Writers (The Big Thrill, and others. We will promote the book to translation reviewers and global literature review magazines, including World Literature Today. We will create a reading guide for book clubs and others interested in reading the book in a group setting. The reading guide will be printed in the book and will include a Q&A with the author. We will seek blurbs from Lee Childs and Deon Meyer, and already have blurbs from Jassy MacKenzie and Roger Smith. We will seek out book clubs who are interested in the book. Promotion at book fairs and trade shows--ALA annual, ALA mid-winter, African Studies Association, etc. We will submit the book for relevant awards. Promotion online via Catalyst's website, email lists and social media (blog, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube) with author and publisher interviews, chats, and guest posts. Simultaneous e-book and print release. Readers Guide available.
About the Author
Joanne Hichens is an author and editor living in Cape Town. She has published several novels, including Out To Score (co-authored), Divine Justice, Sweet Paradise, and for young adults, Stained and Riding the Wave. She had edited numerous short story collections, including Bad Company, an anthology of South African crime fiction endorsed by Lee Child. Her memoir, Death and the After Parties, was released by Karavan Press in November 2020.
