This collection explores the way in which critical theory and practice can unite into a common vision of democratic hope. While each author has his or her own specialty, the thread of shared dreams is portrayed in a call for solidarity. About the Author
BARRY KANPOL is Assistant Professor of Educational Foundations at The Pennsylvania State University at Harrisburg. He is the author of Critical Pedagogy: An Introduction (Bergin & Garvey, 1994) and Towards a Theory and Practice of Teacher Cultural Politics (1992).
PETER McLAREN is Associate Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, Graduate School of Education. He is the author of Cries from the Corridor: The New Suburban Ghettoes and Schooling as a Ritual Performance. He has edited Between Borders (1993) with Henry Giroux and A Critical Pedagogy of Representation: Rethinking Media Literacy (1994).
