Outside China, many Chinese have migrated to other parts of the world, their remittances home often having a significant impact within China. Also, China's increasing links to other parts of the world have led to a growth in migration to China, most interestingly recently migration from Africa. Li Peilin is Director of the Institute of Sociology, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Executive Vice-President of the Chinese Sociological Association.
