Description

Career Counseling, 3rd edition, provides a comprehensive, holistic overview of the foundations of career counseling, information on the most effective skills and techniques, and contextual perspectives on career and lifestyle planning, all by nationally and internationally recognized experts. Updated chapters introduce important material not often addressed in introductory texts, such as rehabilitation, addictive behaviors, counseling couples and families, and working with ethnic and gender/sexual minority clients. Included throughout the text are case studies, informational sidebars, and experiential activities that enhance the reading and encourage additional contemplation of chapter content. Readers can also turn to the book's companion website for chapter test questions, PowerPoints, and additional resources.

Reviews

"The relevance of Career Counseling for educators, students, and clinicians lies in the authors' commitment to providing a cogent, accessible, well-rounded foundation that details both history and important advancements in the field. Integrated case studies help guide readers through the application of various skills and concepts for diverse populations in myriad settings, while the experiential activities bring the material to life. This book is the essential text for educating career counselors."

Jason Patton, PhD, LPC, core faculty, School of Counseling, Walden University

"In the third edition of Career Counseling, David Capuzzi and Mark Stauffer have provided an excellent overview of the process of helping individuals plan their career and personal futures. Unlike many edited texts in which chapters are written by multiple authors and are often disjointed, this text flows from chapter to chapter, and each chapter has the same organization. Career decisions are made within the context of people's lives, and the issues covered in this book-such as disabilities, addictions, and minority status-affect clients' career decisions. The test questions, lecture slides, and additional materials provided by the book editors for professors of career counseling courses are excellent."

Theodore P. Remley, Jr, JD, PhD, professor of counseling, University of Holy Cross

"Capuzzi and Stauffer have written a very informative book on career counseling. This text provides an innovative, comprehensive approach that focuses on career theory, as well as on the role of the career counselor and skills needed for contemporary career counseling practices. Truly this book will be an important asset for students and career counselors in practice."

Loretta Bradley, PhD, LPC, NCC, former president of American Counseling Association, Area Cooperative Educational Services, and International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors, Paul Whitfield Horn Professor, counselor education, Texas Tech University

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
