Description

'A triumph . . . The magic is mesmerising, the humour masterful and the adventure magnificent.' - A. F. Steadman, bestselling author of Skandar and the Unicorn Thief

'Full of fabulous characters, fantastic humour and breakneck thrills.' - Jonathan Stroud, bestselling author of Lockwood & Co.

Glorious, powerful, magic; a city of twists, turns and tricksters; extraordinary secrets which only one girl can uncover . . . welcome to the world of Arkspire.

Fresh from her glorious victory (kind of...) over the Shrouded, Juniper, Cinder and their newly formed Order of Misfits are riding high. Or at least they ought to be, but there's the small matter of Juni's sister, Elodie, seemingly trying to sabotage her at every turn. Oh, and the fact that Elodie is in mortal danger, and likely to have her soul snuffed out and her body snatched . . . not that Elodie believes Juni.

As if that wasn't enough to worry about, Juniper also has to face the next deadly Arcanist trial. But the Arcanists haven't set these trials to prove her worth. They're just looking for an excuse to kill her.

The Order of Misfits will need all of their best tricks to survive. Juniper's not worried, though - she's got a plan, as well as a magical otherworldly creature on her side, Cinder. But, as much as she hates to admit it . . . there's just something not quite right about Cinder, and his all-consuming desire to crush the Arcanists.

Juni's used to biting off more than she can chew - but has she gone too far this time?

A thrilling adventure and astonishingly illustrated new fantasy series, from the bestselling author of Frostheart.

Praise for the Frostheart series:

'Wild, funny, lavishly illustrated and filled with excitement' - The Guardian

'A rip-roaring action adventure, full of humour, heart and unforgettable characters' - The Bookseller

'Littler is an expert at pushing reluctant readers from one chapter to the next' - The Times

About the Author

Jamie Littler (Author, Illustrator)
Jamie is an author-illustrator who graduated from the Arts Institute at Bournemouth in 2008, going on to win a High Commendation in the Macmillan Children's Book Award. When not trying to tame his unnaturally fast growing hair or having staring matches with next door's cat, he likes drawing, colouring in, cutting things out and sticking things in. He sometimes uses a scanner and a computer, and too often is tempted to throw his printer out of the window. But he would just have to go and pick it up again. His interests are pretty wide and varied -- although he does have a soft spot for wild animals and things that go bump in the night.

Jamie's illustration work includes Hamish and the Worldstoppers which was the bestselling children's debut of 2015 and Wilf the Mighty Worrier, shortlisted for the Laugh Out Loud Book Awards. Frostheart is his first foray into writing fiction.

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
