It's a nice afternoon. Everyone is busy: Cat, Mouse, Bird, Turtle, Rabbit . . . and Piggy! He's painting a picture for a contest. He's sure his beautiful painting will win! But then, uh-oh! A little accident leads to a big problem. Can anything fix it?

A sweet story about winning and losing . . . and about the best prize of all: friendship. For artists 4 years and up.

About the Author
Francesca Pirrone is a freelance illustrator from Italy. As a child, she used to draw for hours. Her mother got so angry that she confiscated the eraser... but it was all for nothing. Pirrone went to the Art Institute in Florence and studied engraving, decorating, sculpture and mosaic. Her passion is to illustrate children's books. She loves to create characters and invent stories for them. She made a few tactile books for blind children. Two of them were awarded by the Italian Federation of the Blind. In 2016 she was honored with the Key Colours Award of Clavis for the book Bruno has 100 friends.

Reviews
"Piggy deals with disappointment by finding the bright side. Originally published in Dutch, this latest series entry finds Piggy painting a picture for an upcoming art contest while his friends play nearby. While roller-skating, Mouse becomes distracted and turns to look at Piggy's work. He skates into Rabbit, who's stretched out practicing floor yoga. Hurt and angry, Rabbit pushes Mouse, who rolls right into Piggy. Piggy accidentally tears the painting. Mouse and Rabbit are contrite, but Piggy is crying, and Bird, Turtle, and Cat are also sad. Then Mouse has an idea: They'll all join in patching up the hole and painting their own contributions over it. Piggy considers the makeshift result "a masterpiece," but the judges disagree. Is Piggy upset? No! "I've already won first prize-because I have the best friends in the world." The final spread shows all the friends happily painting a big blue canvas together. Piggy wears the same gold sweater as in the other books, and once again, small touches of color stand out against white backgrounds and black lines. Previous installments have focused on a constellation of related traits-kindness, caring, collaboration, and sharing-and this latest follows suit, with delightful results. Another sweet, warm outing with a most endearing hero." - Kirkus Reviews

"Turtle, Cat, Rabbit, Bird and Mouse are enjoying various activities while Piggy finishes his painting for an art competition. That is, until a roller-skating Mouse mishap inadvertently damages Piggy's artwork with a big tear. Piggy's disheartened, but perhaps all is not lost, because the friends get busy, adding glue, glitter, and other embellishments to Piggy's piece until everyone-even Piggy-is satisfied and cheered. When Piggy learns he didn't win, his pals worry he's upset, but instead, Piggy surprises them: "How can I be sad? . . . I've already won first prize-because I have the best friends in the world!" Charming, black-and-white line drawings with occasional eye-catching pops of color depict the lively scenes with droll details, like Piggy's foot-pedal car. While there are more words on the page than is typical in books for the target age group, the simply constructed sentences keep the pace lively. This Piggy series entry, originally published in Dutch, offers an enjoyable, upbeat story highlighting facets of friendship, from sharing fun to mutual appreciation and support." - Shelle Rosenfeld; Booklist Reviews

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
