Description

Hailed as 'superb', 'thorough', and 'contemporary', this is the essential orthodontics text for all staff involved in orthodontic treatment, whether they are dental students, orthodontic therapists, postgraduate students at the beginning of their career, or more experienced clinicians wanting an evidence-based, concise update on the foundations of contemporary orthodontic care. With over 700 illustrations and plenty of case studies, An Introduction to Orthodontics, Fifth Edition is a user-friendly introduction to the subject. Continuing its well-deserved reputation, it is the perfect starting point for learning key concepts and the practical aspects of orthodontics. The new fifth edition has been completely updated to reflect contemporary practice, including a new chapter dedicated to hypodontia and orthodontics, and a new chapter on the fastest growing area in orthodontics, clear aligners. Readers will find further reading and references at the end of each chapter, including references to appropriate Cochrane Reviews to aid revision and support clinical practice. Learning objectives, key points boxes, and instructive artwork make this an essential text for busy readers who need focused and practical learning.

Reviews
I think this book should be a go to resource for all residents and also for clinicians who want to update their knowledge with the current evidence ... great example of a comprehensive orthodontic textbook written in a cohesive and concise style which will equip you with enough theory to start a career in orthodontics. * Orthodontic Book Review *
With over 700 illustrations and many clinical cases studied, this book is a wonderful book ... The authors made this book easy to follow, to read and to understand even if you dont know many things about Orthodontics. * Dr Xavier Riaud, DDS, PhD in History of Sciences and Technics Laureate and Full member of the National Academy of Dental Surgery *
Review from previous edition This book equips the reader with a strong fundamental foundation in the subject... a superb text, which I would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone with an interest in orthodontics. * British Dental Journal, June 2013 *
This book offers a well-organized overview of the orthodontic field and is a nice addition to the general practitioner's collection * Doody's Notes *
The fourth edition has been improved and updated, confirming the authors commitment to contemporize this textbook. The book is well illustrated with coloured diagrams and numerous clinical photographs, making it very easy for the reader to grasp the concepts of orthodontics... In summary, this book, which is competitively priced, provides a thorough introduction to the main concepts of orthodontics and it will appeal to a diverse readership including undergraduate and postgraduate students, general dental practitioners with a special interest in orthodontics, and general dentists who want to get an overview of the specialty. * European Journal of Orthodontics, August 2013 *

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
