Description

Our plucky young troublemaker Akissi is back with even more tales of mischief on The Ivory Coast! This time, she plays matchmaker with mixed results, tries to avoid moving to the snowy, wolf-infested wilds of Paris, and turns her hand to poetry - which stinks. Inspired by her childhood in Africa, writer Marguerite Abouet takes readers on even more hilarious adventures with the mischievous but loveable Akissi, who returns for more "girls will be girls" adventures on the Ivory Coast. Join Akissi, her crew of friends and her brother Fofana for all the silly fun in this brightly illustrated comic, published here for the rst time in English.

About the Author
Marguerite Abouet was born in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, in 1971. Following the tremendous success of her comics Aya of Yop City, Marguerite Abouet now dedicates all of her time to writing. Akissi is based on her own childhood. Mathieu Sapin was born in Dijon, France, in 1974. He studied in l'Ecole supe rieure des Arts De coratifs de Strasbourg before becoming a renowned illustrator for many children's magazines and publishers in France.

Reviews
Akissi is an absolute joy... her world is real, rounded, full of warmth and humour. * BookTrust *
If you've yet to experience Abouet and Sapin's depiction of Ivory Coast life I cannot recommend this series more highly. In these most difficult of times books like Akissi are a beacon of joyous light in the darkness of reality. -- Andy Oliver * Broken Frontier *
[Mathieu Sapin] brings Akissi's Abidjan suburb to life, and is great when moments of exaggeration are needed. * The Slings & Arrows Graphic Novel Guide *

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
