Description
The aim of our book is to describe the latest developments on aging research methodology , building upon previous editions, and updating the contents. Current topics are to be approached from the research perspective and the underpinnings of those studies aimed at unveiling the fine pathway of aging. The chapters reflect the state-of-the-art methods and their different variations that will clarify problematic issues faced when investigating the impact of time on the biology of live beings (mainly humans). In addition, this work aims to stimulate new questions and innovative approaches from the readers. Finally, content will interest professionals from different disciplines and different levels of expertise.
About the Author
Carmen Garcia-Pena is the General Director of the National Institute of Geriatrics at Mexico. She is a medical doctor with an specialization of family medicine and a master degree in medical sciences. She obtained her PhD in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She is qualified as Emeritus National Researcher by the National Council of Science and Technology. Member of the National Academy of Medicine, the Mexican Academy of Sciences and international member of the National Academy of Medicine at USA.
Mario Ulises Perez-Zepeda is a researcher at the National Institute of Geriatrics, Mexico. He is a medical doctor with specialization in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, holds a Masters and PhD in Medical Sciences from Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. He is a professor at the Universidad Anahuac Mexico and the Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia. He is a member of the Mexican National Academy of Medicine and of the National Research Council.
Luis Miguel Gutierrez-Robledo is a medical doctor with specialization in internal medicine and geriatrics from Grenoble University, France. Dr Gutierrez-Robledo obtained his doctoral degree from the University of Bordeaux, France. He is a member of the National Academy of Medicine in Mexico and an international member of the National Academy of Medicine in France. He is the founder and former General Director of the National Institute of Geriatrics in Mexico.
Rosa Estela Garcia-Chanes is a health researcher at the National Institute of Geriatrics, Mexico. She is a physical anthropologist at the National School of Anthropology and History with a Master's degree in Demography and a PhD in Population Studies at the College of Mexico. She is also a member of the Mexican Research Council.
