Description

A once close-knit family of four reunite after a long period of estrangement. This time, this time, it must go right. Words never said. Words said that shouldn't be. Contradicting memories. Family history builds like sedimentary rock, layer upon layer. In this warm and touchingly comic new drama, Stephanie Jacob peels away the facades and literally re-sets the clock. As the four characters tussle for what they think they want, we are allowed to peer into the recesses of that unknowable unit which so shapes each of our lives: the family. Moving, funny, infinitely relatable, Again is a brand new play with an ingenious theatrical twist. It premiered at London's Trafalagar Studios in 2018.

About the Author
Stephanie Jacob is a writer and actor. Her first play, Harry's Window, about sibling rivalry among the over-eighties, had readings at the New Ambassadors, Soho Theatre and the National Theatre Studio, where Stephanie has subsequently been a Writer-on-Attachment. The Quick, about restorative justice, was produced at the Tristan Bates Theatre, London. Her radio play, A Night Visitor (BBC Radio 4 Afternoon Drama), won the Writers' Guild Best Radio Drama Award. As an actor, Stephanie has worked at the National Theatre, the RSC, in repertory and touring theatre, and in the West End.

Reviews

'Filled with humour and beautiful writing, and [has] a clever structure that elevates it to something more than just a play about family... theatrical, inventive and good fun'

* LondonTheatre1 *

'Bears many of the hallmarks of Caryl Churchill... it is constantly surprising and challenging, easily holding the attention and, like a page-turning novel, making viewers want to know what is going to happen next. It also gets deep into the psychology and personalities of each of the four individuals, every one of whom seems fully fleshed out, which is no mean feat... a really fine piece of writing'

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
