Description

Meet Pedro. He's tiny, but while looking for a BIG adventure he is rescued by the ADVENTUREMICE - a brave, determined team who keep all the Mouse Islands safe from harm. Pedro's dream is to show he's heroic enough to join their ranks. And he soon gets the chance to prove himself, when a big scary otter starts causing trouble in the waters nearby . . .

The first book in a delightful new series full of friendship and adventure, from adored, award-winning author/illustrator duo Philip Reeve and Sarah McIntyre.

About the Author
Philip Reeve grew up in Brighton. He has been writing stories since he was five years old, but the first one to be published was Mortal Engines which won the Nestle Smarties Book Prize and Blue Peter Book Award, and was made into a blockbuster film. Philip has also provided cartoons and jokes for many books, including Horrible Histories, and written the magical Utterly Dark series. Sarah McIntyre is easy to spot in her pointy glasses and hats. Sometimes she writes and draws picture books and comics herself, and sometimes she illustrates books for other people, including Giles Andreae, Alan MacDonald, Gillian Rogerson, Anne Cottringer and Claire Freedman. When Philip and Sarah make books together, they both brainstorm the story ideas together, then Philip writes them and Sarah illustrates them. But occasionally they swap roles for a bit. And they love dressing up.

Reviews
By a celebrated team . . . Illustrated [by Sarah McIntyre] with precise, charming and expressive pictures worth poring over, it takes us into the detailed dwellings of a delightful mouse community . . . Philip Reeve is an expert storyteller * Sunday Times Children's Book of the Week *
Reeve and McIntyre are a classic team * Times *
Superbly silly and highly endearing, the first book in Reeve and McIntyre's series of rodent adventures sees plucky young Pedro determined to prove he can join the titular band of mighty mice * Waterstones 'Perfect Paperbacks' *
The first of a perfect full colour adventure series for younger readers . . . young readers will be desperate for the next instalment * LoveReading4Kids *
McIntyre's illustrations are typically irresistible. Brilliant characterisation is achieved in the simplest way - with bold line and colour delivering pictures that sparkle and fizz on almost every page * Books for Keeps *
It follows in the footsteps of other Reeve and McIntyre books with its pacy story, brilliant illustrations (in full colour) and its immersive nature. Fun and heart-warming, with just the right level of perilous adventure for the young reader, this series is sure to be a winner * BookTrust *
Reeve and McIntyre's wit, charm and silliness ooze throughout the story. The illustrations are bright, bold and totally typical of McIntyre's inimitable style * Just Imagine *
It's a book to inspire (day-)dreams and great ambition. A small book . . . with a big heart * Books for Topics *
A fun-packed delight * Telegraph, praise for Reeve & McIntyre *
As the story dashes along so, too, do the illustrations, which are a delight on every page * Guardian, praise for Reeve & McIntyre *
A delightfully told, beautiful tale * Chris Riddell, praise for Reeve & McIntyre *

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
