About the Author
Prof. Mangey Ram received his Ph.D. in Mathematics (major) and Computer Science (minor) from the G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, India. He has been a faculty member for ca. 15 years and has taught several core courses in pure and applied mathematics at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate levels. He is currently a Research Professor at Graphic Era (deemed to be University), Dehradun, India and a Visiting Professor at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Saint Petersburg, Russia. He is Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Mathematical, Engineering, and Management Sciences; Journal of Reliability and Statistical Studies; Journal of Graphic Era University; Series Editor of six book series with Elsevier, CRC Press-A Taylor and Frances Group, Walter De Gruyter Publisher Germany, River Publisher and Guest Editor and Associate Editor for various journals. His fields of research are reliability theory and applied mathematics. Prof. Ram is a Senior Member of the IEEE, Senior Life Member of the Operational Research Society of India, the Society for Reliability Engineering, Quality and Operations Management in India, the Indian Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics. He is a member of the organizing committee of several international and national conferences, seminars, and workshops. He was conferred the "Young Scientist Award" by the Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology, Dehradun, in 2009, and given the "Best Faculty Award" in 2011; "Research Excellence Award" in 2015; and "Outstanding Researcher Award" in 2018 for his significant contributions in academics and research at Graphic Era (deemed to be University), Dehradun, India. Most recently, he received the "Excellence in Research of the Year-2021 Award" from the Honourable Chief Minister of the Uttarakhand State, India. Prof. (Dr.) J. Paulo Davim is a Full Professor at the University of Aveiro, Portugal, with over 35 years of experience in Mechanical, Materials, and Industrial Engineering. He holds multiple distinguished academic titles, including a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and a DSc from London Metropolitan University. He has published over 300 books and 600 articles, with more than 36,500 citations. He is ranked among the world's top 2% scientists by Stanford University and holds leadership positions in numerous international journals, conferences, and research projects. J. Paulo Davim received the Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1997, the M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering (materials and manufacturing processes) in 1991, the Mechanical Engineering degree (5 years) in 1986, from the University of Porto (FEUP), the Aggregate title (Full Habilitation) from the University of Coimbra in 2005 and the D.Sc. from London Metropolitan University in 2013. He is Eur Ing by FEANI-Brussels and Senior Chartered Engineer by the Portuguese Institution of Engineers with a MBA and Specialist title in Engineering and Industrial Management. Currently, he is Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Aveiro, Portugal. He has more than 30 years of teaching and research experience in Manufacturing, Materials and Mechanical Engineering with special emphasis in Machining & Tribology. He has also interest in Management & Industrial Engineering and Higher Education for Sustainability & Engineering Education. He has guided large numbers of postdoc, Ph.D. and masters students as well as coordinated & participated in several research projects. He has received several scientific awards. He has worked as evaluator of projects for international research agencies as well as examiner of Ph.D. thesis for many universities. He is the Editor in Chief of several international journals, Guest Editor of journals, books Editor, book Series Editor and Scientific Advisory for many international journals and conferences. Presently, he is an Editorial Board member of 25 international journals and acts as reviewer for more than 80 prestigious Web of Science journals. In addition, he has also published as editor (and co-editor) more than 100 books and as author (and co-author) more than 10 books, 80 book chapters and 400 articles in journals and conferences (more than 200 articles in journals indexed in Web of Science core collection/h-index 45+/6000+ citations and SCOPUS/h-index 52+/8000+ citations).
