Description

In the wake of the reversal of Roe v. Wade in 2022, Abortion in International Popular Culture: The Decision Heard Round the World examines representations of abortion and reproductive justice across a wide range of popular culture artifacts, literary texts, and activist movements across the world. Contributors analyze examples from Chile, Italy, Malta, Sweden, Canada, France, the U.K., Argentina, Ireland, and Poland to consider the relationships between art and public policy, the impact of American policy on global policy and pro-choice movements, and the transnational influence of cultural representations of abortion.

About the Author

Reviews

"Timely and powerful, Abortion in International Popular Culture explores abortion in mediums as diverse as graphic novels, novels, autobiography, feminist symbols, discursive activism, film, and theatre. Following on from their previous edited collection, this time the authors travel across contexts including Italy, Ireland, Argentina, Chile, Malta, and Poland to illustrate the power of popular culture to share abortion information, challenge abortion stigma, and fight for reproductive justice. A rich and engaging read, this book will be of interest to media and popular culture scholars as much as those interested in abortion and reproduction more broadly."

-- Cordelia Freeman, University of Exeter

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
