About the Author
Jack Kornfield was trained as a Buddhist monk in Thailand, Burma and India and has taught meditation worldwide since 1974. He is one of the key teachers to introduce Theravada Buddhist practice to the West, concentrating on bringing alive the great Eastern spiritual teachings for Western students. Jack also holds a PhD in clinical psychology. He is founding teacher of the Insight Meditation Society and the Spirit Rock Center and lives with his wife and daughter in northern California.
