NOTABLE BOOK: 2023 CBCA Book of the Year, Eve Pownall Award

Perfectly sized for little hands, this beautiful board book edition of Jess McGeachin's award-winning masterpiece is a unique celebration of many kinds of living things - and the kindness we can show them as we wander through the world. From the tiniest beetle to the most majestic whale, every creature on Earth is a marvel, deserving of awe and compassion. Babies and parents alike will delight in the lyrical rhyming text and brightly coloured illustrations.

About the Author
Jess McGeachin is an author and illustrator living in Narrm (Melbourne). His debut picture book, Fly, was published in 2019 and was shortlisted for the Children's Book Council of Australia and Queensland Literary Awards. His first two non-fiction books, Deep and Kind, were published in 2022. Deep was the winner of the 2023 CBCA Eve Pownall Award. Kind and The Tree at Number 43 were the co-winners of the 2023 Environment Award for Children's Literature.

Jess draws quite literally from a day job at Melbourne Museum, where he's lucky enough to help design exhibitions and occasionally get lost in the basement.

Reviews
'A truly wonderful celebration of all "kinds" of wildlife and of just being kind. Kind is a beautiful and timely reminder of the kindness we should show to all creatures, including ourselves. The text is simple and lyrical, imploring us to see the magic in every creature. It is a reminder that even though some may be frightening, we need to understand their vulnerability. The vibrant illustrations are beautifully detailed, with each creature being identified. This is the perfect book for discovery or to share with young nature lovers.' Heather Zubek, 'The Word', The West Australian

Awards
Winner of CBCA Awards 2023 (Australia). Short-listed for Best Designed Children's Picture Book 2023 (Australia) and Australian Book Design Awards 2024 (Australia). Long-listed for Eve Pownall Award 2023 (Australia).

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
