Description

Single mother and Diocesan Exorcist Merrily Watkins must keep the peace in rural Hereford, quelling a modern witch hunt, and a killer with an old tradition to guard...

Ancient history, violent deaths, feuds, intrigues and murder. A most original sleuth. - The Times

When a pagan couple buy a ruined church on the Welsh Border, there's an extreme reaction from the local fundamentalist priest. Is it a hate campaign or a nightmarish modern witch-hunt? Merrily Watkins is sent in to keep the lid on the cauldron and uncovers the sinister dynamics of the isolated village of Old Hindwell.

Merrily Watkins: late thirties, single mum, parish priest. Cosy? I don't think so... 'A haunting quality unique in crime fiction... rich in atmosphere and practically unique' Great British Fictional Detectives, Russell James 'The paranormal investigator with a down-to-earth attitude. This is no rural paradise' Sunday Telegraph

Reviews
A highly sophisticated crime novel, unlike almost anything else in the genre. Grips like a clamp. Rickman makes us care about his characters . . . is brilliant at dialogue. * Crime Time *
A steaming brew that teeters on the edge of real violence. * Tribune *
Utterly convincing. Although you might not find the portrayal of fanatics on either side of the spiritual divide entirely appealing, you'll have difficulty denying they exist. * Pagan Dawn *

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
