About the Author
Quentin Luke is a freelance botanical consultant and senior research associate at the East African Herbarium, National Museums of Kenya, in Nairobi. A world authority on tropical African botany, he has worked in 12 tropical African countries. Currently, he is Chair of the IUCN-SSC Eastern African Red List Authority. Henk Beentje is a freelance botanist who has worked extensively on the flora of Africa. He worked at the National Museums of Kenya for five years, and at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, for 25. He was editor of Flora of Tropical East Africa, a catalogue of all known wild plant species in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. He is also the author of Kenya Trees, Shrubs and Lianas, co-author of Palms of Madagascar, and the author and co-author of several field guides.
