About the Author
Ian M Bott, a native of Wednesbury, spent his earliest working years as a watchmaker this busy market town. The tales and memories he heard from his friends and his customers fired his abiding interest and pride in the town and its immediate area. Since the late 1980's Ian has been highly regarded as an accomplished local historian, public speaker and author of several titles on a wide range of Black Country interests. His previous works include Wednesbury in Old Photographs, Black Country Murders, Wednesbury Revisited, Darlaston, Moxley & Bentley and Wednesbury Memories. Currently he divides his time between working as a guide at Walsall Leather Museum and an occupation considered somewhat unusual for a local historian - as a nightclub doorman!
