About the Author

Dr. Gaurav Prashar is an Associate Professor and Department Head of Mechanical Engineering at Rayat Bahra Institute of Engineering and Nano Technology, Hoshiarpur with 16 years of teaching experience. He earned his Ph.D degree from Lovely Professional University (LPU) Phagwara, India. He has published 18 SCI papers, 2 Scopus indexed papers, 7 international conference papers, 13 book chapters, and one book. Dr. Prashar has contributed extensively to thermal spray coatings in reputed journals, and he serves as reviewer for international reputed journals.

Dr. Hitesh Vasudev is a Professor in the School of Mechanical Engineering, Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, India. He received his Ph.D. degree from Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana, India. His research areas include Surface Engineering/Thermal Spraying; development of Nano- structured, Multi-modal, High entropy alloys coatings for high temperature oxidation and corrosion resistance; Thermal Barrier Coatings (TBCs); and Microwave processing of materials. He has contributed extensively in thermal spray coatings in reputed journals. He won the Research Excellence Award-2019, 2020, 2021, 2023 and 2024 at Lovely Professional University. He has written 50+ SCI indexed papers, 100+ Scopus Indexed papers, 15 conference papers, 18 book chapters, and 5 books. Dr. Vasudev has been granted a patent titled "High-Temperature Oxidation and Erosion Resistant Alloy-718/Al2O3 Composite Coatings."

Dr. Lalit Thakur is a faculty member of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology (N.I.T.) Kurukshetra, India. He obtained his M.Tech. and Ph.D. degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology (I.I.T.) Roorkee, India. For the last 15 years, he has been continuously exploring new possibilities in the field of Welding Engineering and Thermal Spray Technology. Dr. Thakur has authored more than 85 research articles in various International Journals (SCI/Scopus), Conferences, and Edited Books of reputed publishers, and he has published notable books with CRC Press such as Thermal Spray Coatings, Thermal Claddings for Engineering Applications, and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in the Thermal Spray Industry: Practices, Implementation, and Challenges. He has obtained two patents in the field of thermal spray coatings and friction stir processing. He is also a consultant of material testing and an Investigator of research projects sponsored by DRDO and DST of India. Dr. Thakur has guided many M.Tech. and Ph.D. scholars in emerging areas of Thermal spraying, Advanced Manufacturing, and Welding Technology.
