About the Author
Brian McLean is a British translator and journalist. He spent periods in Japan and Austria before settling in Hungary in 1977. He is the author of Escape Routes: Ten Excursions from Budapest. He has translated about fifty, mainly scholarly, books, including Gabriella Balla's Herend (an illustrated history of the porcelain factory), Political Economy of Socialism by Janos Kornai, and The Holy Crown of Hungary by Endre Toth and Karoly Szelenyi. Kester Eddy is a British journalist and writer who has lived in Budapest for many years and raised a Hungarian family. He brings specialist knowledge to the book, namely in political and economic affairs.
